The Hackensack River and Wolf Creek help to create the western border separating the neighborhood from Ridgefield. Some of the main roadways through the town include Fairview Avenue, Bergen Boulevard, Bergenwood Road, and Anderson Avenue.

History

Initially, the area was referred to as The English Neighborhood and was part of the Township of Ridgefield. It was settled by the Dutch as early as 1668.
