Keasbey

Keasbey is an unincorporated community located within the center of Middlesex County, New Jersey. It is part of Woodbridge Township and is located on the western edge of Perth Amboy. The main roadways in the area include the Garden State Parkway, Smith Street, and Crows Mill Road. The Raritan River creates the southern border as Crows Mill Creek forms the western edge. 

History

The area used to be called Florida Grove due to beaches along the Raritan River and its picnic areas. However, with the increased industrial use of the area, the only memories of it are the Florida Grove Arms apartments located on Florida Grove Road. The area became well-known for its brick and clay industries and was named after one family that owned a brick factory. The Keasbey family estate was located in Morristown and is currently being used as a museum, the Macculloch Hall. 

Neighborhood

The area is home to many apartment complexes, like the Florida Grove Arms, and has a good mix of both renters and homeowners. Approximately 80.1% of the community's real estate is classified as apartment complexes. Home prices in the area average $245,719, which is less expensive than 74.5% of other neighborhoods in the state. Rent is also lower than 45% of other neighborhoods and runs approximately $2,348 per month.
