The Township of Pittsgrove is situated in the eastern region of Salem County in New Jersey. The community is home to the Moshe Bayuk House, located on Gershal Avenue. In 1899 the house was built for Moshe Bayuk. Bayuk founded the Alliance Colony, an agricultural colony for Jewish immigrants that fled Russia to escape religious persecution. Although the house is in poor condition, grants have been established for the current owners, the Jewish Federation of Cumberland County, to restore it in hopes of turning it into a heritage center.
Since 1706, the Ye Olde Centerton Inn has been in operation. It is the oldest in the state and second in the country. The Inn currently serves as a restaurant that offers inside dining as well as catering options. They are known for their seafood selections and their steaks dinners. The decor has been kept to reflect the vintage style of the architectural charm. Each of the six dining rooms offers a different personality with its decor and atmosphere.
