The car accident lawyers in Absecon Highlands, NJ, at Garden State Justice Group, offer the following insight into the area's history.
The neighborhood is located with the Galloway Township. North Shore Road runs north and south through the town's center. Absecon is to the south and Oceanview is to its north. This coastal community is only 7.7 miles from the Atlantic City International Airport in Egg Harbor Township.
The area was once home to the Delaware Nation, or Lenni-Lenape, Native American Indians. They would live off the many resources of the coastal ways. They dug ditches in straight lines to distinguish property lines and to control the water used for the meadows. Fish and shellfish were plentiful, but they also hunted and foraged throughout the area, now referred to as Glenn by the Bay.
The large green space is located on Shore Road, or Route 9. In 1985, Thomas Glenn II and his wife, Ann-Marie, purchased the 42-acre property from Bruce Coltart's widow, Elise Coltart. Coltart was a former golf pro at the Seaview Country Club. The Glenn family would go on to purchase another section of land on the north end of the property to create a 62-acre estate.
Upon the area was a barn that was said to be built by a family from Brigantine just after World War II. At one point, a road traveled on the property from the field to the meadow. A wagon landing area was once where a large clearing now remains.
Unfortunately, the area would be too much for the widow, and not desiring for the land to be developed, she sold it to the Atlantic County Parks System. The house upon the property has been used as an arts center, and the barn has hosted many summer camps. The Galloway Veterans Memorial Park offers engraved memorial bricks, historical markers, and glass wall blocks. The area is respectfully set up for remembering and honoring the veterans lost during the wars.

Rent is higher than some other areas and averages $2,474. However, the area is predominantly owner-occupied with a 19.4% vacancy rate. As many as 14.1% of the housing is occupied on a seasonal basis.
