Bradley Beach, New Jersey, is a borough in Monmouth County. The town is 75.1 miles north of Atlantic City, taking the Garden State Parkway up the coast. It lies on the Atlantic Ocean, with Sylvan Lake forming its southern border and Lake Terrace lining its northern edge. The main roadways are Ocean Avenue, Main Street, and Brinley Avenue.
The borough was named after the wealthy Manhattan developer James Adam Bradley. Along with William B. Bradner, Bradley purchased 54 acres of land known at the time as Ocean Park and part of the Ocean Township. Despite the appeal from the citizens, the area was separated from the township and was officially incorporated in 1893. In 1925 the New Jersey Legislature would confirm the town a borough.
